Inception. For Real.

A bunch of us were over at Taryn’s mansion just hanging out on a Friday afternoon when it dawned on us that it just so happened to be her parent’s wedding anniversary which means nothing else but reenactment. I was just standing there as boxes upon boxes were brought into the giant living room and I watched as people started putting on the clothing. Civil war era clothing. Her mom threw on an old fashion dress overtop her other dress and everyone else without hesitation began putting on the blue uniforms with the brass buttons. It was elaborate. While we were getting dressed the back wall even turned into a bowling alley shoe rack type thing carrying all different shoe sizes for the same metal looking toe-pointed joker looking shoe. I found a ten and put it on realizing that I left something in the dorm room that I needed. I took it off and ran home. Because I lived right around the corner…anyway I got home and found whatever it was that I had left and realized someone with a car had forgotten something as well but didn’t see me running and drove straight past me in the middle of the street. I kept running anyway and I saw this boy swinging along side of the road clutching a basketball in his arms as he swung up over the pavement and then back over the grass behind. Next time he did though he tossed the ball up and caught it before he swung back. I watched as he did it one more time but he missed the basketball and it bounced on the road in my direction. I attempted to toss it back but all I could do was bat at the bouncing ball because it was behind me and I couldn’t stop my feet from running at this point. I eventually hit it back to him but he missed a second time. He hopped off the swing and followed me down the street a little ways until the road became narrower and someone else was in our path. They started to argue. I told them to play it out in a game of basketball because at this point there just happened to be a basketball hoop in the middle of the road. A car passed and honked loudly. I “woke up” before the end of the fight.
Summer and Kim and I were hanging out in the dorm room paranoid at the noises that were surrounding us. The room was smaller than normal and the entrance was darker so that we couldn’t see people coming and going. There was a small window that stared out at an airport runway but that’s besides the point. I looked at Kim and started to explain my dream about Taryn’s mom’s civil war wedding reenactment when Taryn walked in. She sat down and listened as well except this time she would interrupt and place her own commentary between the lines. I yelled at her to shut up because it distracts me and then I forget the actual dream that I had just encountered. We heard some noise though and it was unnerving. They hid ontop and I attempted to hide underneath my bed until I had a better more brilliant idea to catch the attacker by surprise. I stood up next to the door against the wall so they wouldn’t see me until it was too late. I picked up a notebook and waited. We heard some more shuffling and then a figure rounded the bend and into our room but before they could get too far I hit them with the notebook. Only after the contact did I realize that it was Britt Watson, another girl in our suite at school Woops! That’s when I woke up for real.
