The Descent

A couple friends and I were dressed up all fancy getting ready to go to a party. The entrance was pretty far away though and we walked through a maze in order to arrive at our destination. After reaching the far side, we then spoke with a man for a few minutes who proceeded to tell us that the door was locked and no more people were getting in. Disappointed, but not crying over the loss, we turned around to head back home. Instead of the maze-like walkway we used to reach the party, there was a very steep set of bleachers. Almost like in a previous dream I had, except these seats weren't rocking which was nice because I know I was scared and that my friend, would have been bad.
Anyway I don't know if you know this about me but I am afraid of heights so seeing this drop was not exactly the happiest moment of my life. My friends considered the difference normal as they lowered themselves down freehandedly like professional rock climbers. Me? I sat there for a while thinking about my options. The conclusion being that there was no other way out, I began my descent.
Luckily there were boxes on each level that I could grab onto in order to maintain my balance and lower myself down. I went slowly, barely getting three rows in by time my friends reached the bottom. Now I'm not sure if you forgot but I was also wearing a dress making this seemingly more difficult. Eventually though I reached the bottom.
Normally as my feet finally stabilized on the ground I would have been happy to have overcome such a feat. That wasn't the case this time however because it was as soon as I took that last hop down to the concrete I realized that I had stored my wallet in one of the boxes as we walked up the hill so as not to lose it at the party. There was a lot of money in there too, specifically a $1000 dollar check that I had received earlier this week. Retracing my steps slowly it didn't take long for me to find the wallet and the money but I was slow, and checking each of the little safes on the way up was a tedious task.
I reached the bottom a second time and remembered that we were supposed to be having a giant family dinner tonight over at my grandfather's house and that all of the cousins were in town. I walked over to his house and was greeted by my father who somehow knew about my misfortune earlier when I had misplaced the wallet even without me mentioning it.
"Did you find your wallet?" were the last words spoken before my eyes were opened.
